If you couldn't already tell, this was made by a human.

You will need Half-Life: Source for models and textures.

This is a hypothetical scenario where AI is capable of extending pre-existing maps using only whats available in the map. What this hypothetical AI is supposed to do is to analyze every door (or every door the user classifies as a door.) and does its best to turn that door into an actual doorway into a different room. It also removes all of the triggers that sends players to the next map so players can see what's beyond the point of the change level zone and see what the AI thinks is beyond the doorway.

If there is an AI that does this, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I would love to try it out. And no, I'm not talking about procedural terrain generation. I'm talking about actual enter-able buildings with intractable objects. This map is a representation of what I want. I'd make the AI myself, but I have no idea how to code. Best I can do is make maps like these.


FAQ:

Q: Why Half-Life: Source?

A: I like Half-Life. Sure I could've just used the OG Half-Life and not the Source port but I am more familiar with Garry's Mod and I'm pretty sure it is FAR easier for you to mess around in GMod than in Half-Life.

Q: Why are there multiple G-Men?

A: 1,'cause it's funny. 2, the hypothetical AI wouldn't know the significance of the characters from Half-Life. And even if it did know, it wouldn't care. It would see G-man as another NPC and would sprinkle copies of him around the extended areas just as any other NPC.

Q: Why are you appeasing to the AI overlords?

A: Because not just big corporate finds it useful. Small people like you and me will find use for it as well. Obviously AI can be bad in some cases but if you want to know what I want from AI, then read the description again.

Q: You are so bad at making maps that you blame a hypothetical AI for your mistakes! I can make stuff better than you!

I think that if you teach AI to work with the VMF format and explain the whole syntax to it, then in theory AI will really be able to make maps. The only question is how to get him to follow the "rules" of mapping and not create random brushes in random places.
