TREKORION: Hyperion-Class Heavy Battlecruiser | Fe/Ti (8 Slots)

Built both to compliment the Bulwark and as a commemorative ship series to celebrate the opening and subsequent moving of Lagrange Staryard's HQ into the Cetarus system (home of the UCS), the Hyperion-Class Heavy Battlecruiser was built specifically to operate within the KRAC star group, where subspace doesn't allow the use of standard warp technologies and places more importance on impulse drives and older propulsion methods for interplanetary travel.

Because of these challenges, Lagrange in cooperation with other companies prior to the turn of the century opened the KRAC Interstellar Transportation Network; a series of jump gates which act as two-way opening folds to allow for guided interstellar travel at FTL speeds, but require stops and cooldown periods before jumping to another system.

The deal to move to the Cetarus system was formed over the need of more modern ships for the exponentially growing colonies for defense, exploration, and industrial services. The UCS government allowed Lagrange to purchase Cetarus III's second moon for mining expeditions and the building of shipyards in orbit of both the moon and the planet, which would go on to allow for a dedicated developed shipwright corporation with a series of staryards for fielding and maintaining fleets in the conflicts to come.

The Hyperion-Class hull would go on to be mostly reused in a command variant which was put into limited production, with only three units being made.
