NYC Subway R188

The R188 is a class of NTT subway cars built by Kawasaki for the New York City Subway A Division. The fleet entered service in 2013, displacing the 1980s-era R62As. Of the 506 cars in the fleet, only 126 were built brand-new; the remaining cars were originally part of the R142A fleet that entered service in 2000, before being upgraded to R188s with the installation of CBTC equipment.
