描述
Several incorrect or inaccurate terrain names have been changed everywhere I could find them, even in the Civilopedia, including its pages on the relevant buildings, units, and promotions. The goal is for them to more scientifically represent their respective biomes.

- Jungles are now called Rainforests (negative and misleading)
- Marshes are now called Wetlands (too specific)
- Plains are now called Prairie (describes shape of land not biome)
- Snow is now called Ice Sheet (weather, too cold for precipitation there)
- Coast is now called Coastal (inaccurate)

I realize this will be rather subjective, but such inconsistencies always annoyed me :). Rainforests and Wetlands are the only ones I'm sure about. Snow tiles represent polar deserts in real life, often covered in ice sheets (like Antartica), but it's confusing since there already is a Desert tile.

Opinions are welcome and encouraged!

Direct download if Steam is acting up or you are a Mac user:

Just use a program like WinRar to unzip the file into a folder and then place the folder in your Civ 5 Mods folder alongside your other mods and it should appear in your mod list in game.

Do you have a real English equivalent? Tired of seeing "Prairie" everywhere. Also, "Glacier" would be more appropriate instead of "Ice Sheet", no?

Snow = Ice Sheet

2) Regarding Snow, how about "Glacier" instead? It seems more precise since Ice Sheet is meant to describe a particularly large area of glacial ice (several contiguous Snow tiles in-game).

3) Is there a reason you went with Prairie instead of Savanna? I read through the comments and saw several mentions of savanna, but I did not see any discussion of why you chose prairie instead.

Savanna seems a more universal term as it is used to describe biomes in Africa, North & South America, Australia and Europe whereas prairie is largely a North American specific term.

I like the idea of this mod. Here are a few thoughts...

1) I agree "Jungle" is negative and misleading (it would work better if Jungle tiles only appeared at the edges of Forests and along Rivers). But the current mechanics for Jungles in game don't seem to apply very well to the idea of Rainforests:

In game, Jungles are devoid of production, take a long time to clear, and yield no hammers upon clearing - presumably to represent the difficulty and counter-productivity of trying to traverse the dense vegetation of real world "jungles".

But beyond its jungle barrier, a real world rainforest has no such limitation - and humans have engaged in productive logging of rainforest lumber just like any other forest. Perhaps adding a hammer yield when chopping Rainforests could help with immersion here? (but maybe it would affect game balance too much).

@Nikole This was touched on in previous posts here.

I like it more specific, Though I never had a problem with the Jungle/Rainforest swap. Thanks anyway.

Righty then.

@Epik No, as there wouldn't be the North American term "prairie". This is for realism and accuracy.

Is this for British English?
