Alfonso, the iron wall, is here to shatter spines in Rivals of Aether! Alfonso is a massively powerful heavyweight with strength and durability to spare. Alfonso uses a variety of long range pokes, powerful grabs, and super armor to secure victory. But be careful! Alfonso does not fare well at all when it comes to recovery!

Alfonso is inspired by grapplers in traditional fighting games, most notably Hugo and Zangief from Street FIghter, and Potemkin from Guilty Gear.

Nspecial: Pachyderm Pulverizer
--------------------------------------------------------
Pachyderm Pulverizer is Alfonso's signature command grab. On hit Alfonso will jump upwards with his opponent in tow before plummeting back down and delivering a brutal back breaker.

Fspecial: Tremor
--------------------------------------------------------
Tremor is a powerful stomp that sends out a series of shockwaves along the ground. Opponents hit by this wave are launched upwards and put into an untechable state, allowing you to close the gap.

Dspecial: Unbreakable
--------------------------------------------------------
Alfonso Flexes his muscles and prepares to intercept an attack. If he is hit during this state he will retaliate with a dynamic pose, Amping himself up and making his next Nspecial deal more damage and knockback.

Uspecial: Iron Pancake
--------------------------------------------------------
Alfonso soars into the air before crashing back down with a powerful body slam. Holding down during the descent of this attack will cause Alfonso to pass through platforms. Otherwise he will stop on them.


Unique Mechanic: Kara cancels with Ftilt
--------------------------------------------------------

Alfonso's Ftilt is a unique attack with a useful property; by inputting another attack within the first 10 frames of this attacks start up, Alfonso can utilise the initial momentum of this attack to grant certain moves increased range. The attacks Alfonso can kara cancel are:

-Nspecial
-Fspecial
-Uspecial
-Fstrong
-Dstrong

Unique Mechanic: Thick Skin

Alfonso permanently has a soft armor value of 5 at all times. This grants him the ability to ignore the effects of weaker attacks outright.

Attack traits
--------------------------------------------------------

Alfonso's attacks are somewhat specialized and have a few quirks. Here's some useful tips when using Alfonso:

-Utilt is faster than Jab, but has less horizontal range. Use Utilt when you need a quick attack to get combos started.
-Fstrong and Dash attack both have 1 hit of super armor during start up. Use these attacks to shrug off your opponents offence while delivering your own.
-Ustrong has upper body intangibility while it is active, and Alfonso can move left and right for the duration.
