After the successful prototype test runs with the alien reactor in both the "research" variant of the Barsuk and the Yser, the Nighthawk Foundries began to buy up scrapped Barsuk's, actively retrofitting them with the new alien reactor. These new Charodei class submarines are swift, well equipped, and stealthy. While they can very easily fall prey to deep sea and abyssal creatures, these small submarines are famous in small circles for their ease of maintenance and low cost to operate.

• The Charodei has an issue with buoyancy when the airlocks are used in rapid succession. If unchecked, it will sink quickly.
  
• The submarine is very lightly armored, this is made up for by its speed and stealth. It is not recommended for combat situations.
  
• Great for a cheap exploration scout. There is a small storage bay, along with a deconstructor and fabricator, allowing it to harvest minerals and produce goods in short order.
  
• Because of its size, the sub is not good for transporting either cargo or VIPs.
