This map is a representation of Liepāja, the third biggest city in Latvia. In the early days of Operation Barbarossa this city witnessed one of the most intense urban warfare between Nazi German and Soviet armies. Liepāja is historically an important port city and was for a long time the main naval base of the Russian and later Soviet Baltic fleet. The city is naturally enclosed by the Baltic sea on the west and large Liepāja lake and Tosmāre river as well as defensive water canals.

The map features three urban city parts, large outskirts areas, remote smaller towns outside the main city. And a large sea area. City is divided in three parts: the northern part is called Warport, the main naval base. Main landmark is the military base enclosed by a fence and barbed wire and large hangar for the ships. The warport is defended on the eastern flank by two fortifications with gun emplacements and trenches.

Middle district is called New Liepāja, which is the industrial district featuring factories and railway stations.

Southern part part of the city is called Old Liepāja, which is the historic city center with a large cathedral, town square and damaged caved-in railway underpass.

There are many half sunken and burning ships. Historically the Soviets during the German siege of the city destroyed most of their fleet stationed there. There is also a sinking Red Cross ship in the middle of the sea, that is meant to represent the allegedly German sunken medical ship Tosmāre that was carrying wounded Soviet soldiers and medical workers.

Because of intense German bombing from air and sea, large parts of the city appear damaged, and many streets are hard to navigate making it hard for tanks to navigate, and gives advantage for infantry.

Map uses props from all the official DLC’s and quite a few mods that are in the workshop. Subscribe to them all to get all work properly. Because of the large size of the map, despite long hours spent on it there still might be some issues that I will correct, so expect that will be updated. Also because of the fairly large size of this map and number of props used the map can be laggy for weaker computers. The map does not fully represent the real city of Liepāja and all its real buildings and landmarks. I used as much as it was possible from the map editor and modifications presented in the workshop.
