Latus

Beskrivning
**I am not the creator of this map. It was originally uploaded by Thrall on Shrapnel Games Forum in June 2008.
This is just a port to Dominions 6. It has been tested to work on a single player game.

It has caves and winter should work too.

----------------------------

Update One- Small fix might have helped with slow turn times

Update Two- Fixed Mountain Terrain not working with Dom6, new game required

-----------------------------

provinces: 492 land and 144 sea

And so God half created the world Latus, but got bored and left before it was done: the book of the fickle creator.
Latus is the central world in a very large map. Latus is flat and connected to eight other worlds. The eight sub worlds are all based around a style of magic. There are also numerous asteroids floating around Latus as well and these are provinces as well. You can get to the eight worlds by either the numbered portals (the hard way) or through an asteroid connection (the long way).
Large clusters of ships are a fleet. A fleet can attack any fleet and all fleets are connected to a port. Conquer fleets to get to other continents and quickly transport your troops around the map

After much delay, the repainted version of Latus is finished and now accessible again in my workshop. Appreciate you getting back to me on that a while back; I'm uploading on my side so we don't have to do any weird file juggling back and forth if there are any gaps I missed in the repaint.

Honestly, either way's good for me. If we go through your page we get a heavily cleaned up map visual to the maximum number of people, if we go through mine it's basically new version business as usual. I mostly just wanted to get your thoughts on the matter because redoing someone else's work makes me feel rude if I don't at least try to verify activity first.

I might also be stumbling backwards over myself a bit because this is the only time I haven't noticed a previous upload until AFTER I already did an initial version upload on my side and it's thrown me off my groove a bit. Point stands, your call. I've still got a fair ways to go on the repaint so it'll take me a bit to finish up either way.

Yeah, I just did the easy port, so if you got something quality that wont break things I would be open to uploading it.
Another option I think is I would be willing to link here to an upload you make so that anyone who comes to this page could easily find yours.

Okay! So I had someone request I make a conversion of this map and somehow out of all the maps I've done, I missed this one map specifically having a pre-existing upload. I feel silly.

That said; I have already made fairly significant headway in repainting the province borders for Dominion lines, and just stopping when I'm already partway through it grates my brain a little bit. Once I finish doing the border repainting, would you like me to send you a copy of the file so you can use it for an update? I already have the regular conversion fixes like the mountains bug fixed, so you wouldn't need to redo those.

As far as I know it randomly assigns nations and thrones to the designated throne and nation starting spots. So it does not put specific nations in specific places. I usually just restart a few times if I do not like the starting spot.

are there any custom things on this? like placement of thrones, sites, nations, etc

Any update on the white sheen? I like this maps style, but it becomes a little foggy in winter.

This is a great classic map; I wish there were more maps in this style

I also noticed a white sheen that covers the map in winter. It goes away when winter is over. I will look into this and see if there is a fix, but other then visuals does not affect the game.
