描述
in 2014 as part of their franchise commitments, Amethyst Group had to replace their ageing locomotives with something newer, quicker and more efficient so they turned to Vossloh and their UKlight Family and their Class 68 locomotives.

Amethyst Group had them uprated to 110 MPH operation to fully supersede the ageing class 50 locomotives on loco hauled services like for like, all 25 locomotives were delivered in 2015 as Class 68/1s.
