possession rebalance

描述
This mod rebalances the possession abilities:

Firstly: charm, convert, control undead, necromantic aura, dominate, seduce, and befriend animal abilities are +3 strength stronger, but possessed units die at the end of combat*.

Why would I do that? because it is too easy for players to snowball an army, never needing to produce units in cities, or acquire t3 and t4 units in the first ten turns. It also makes classes without early or any possession abilities slightly stronger by comparison.

Why else?, because tactical play in the base game almost always involves isolating a desired unit and converting it at the end... (and consistently failing to convert units feels bad). With this mod, possession abilities are strong tactical abilities that have greater value mid and early combat, and without having to sacrifice infinite strategical gain as well.

*Possession abilities vary in strength and number of turns possessed. Dispels, killing the possessor unit, or simply outlasting the number of turns possessed ends the possession effect. Possessed units also don't die if their original side wins (but Don't forget that your units are easier to be possessed too).

Secondly: In the base game, Inflict Ghoul Curse is stupid broken and makes tactical play one-dimensional. With this mod, Inflict Ghoul Curse can only curse t1 and t2 units. Also, Inflict Ghoul Curse now adds the rapid decay effect to ghouled units created by ghoul curse (this is the effect on cadavers from raise dead). Normally produced ghoul units do not have the rapid decay property.

This approach to ghoul curse keeps the necromancer playstyle, but constrains the snowballing of free undead units. It also means that some effort needs to be taken to keep your new undead ghouls from falling apart over time.

Likewise, greater reanimate is also stupid broken in the base game.It is trivial to kill t3 or t4 undead and reanimate them in the first 7 days of game play. With this mod, greater reanimate can only reanimate friendly units (like lesser reanimate but without tier restrictions). In other words, you can reanimate your own t4 undead but not get free units from tombs anymore.

These balance changes make the game harder for players to outpace ai or for certain classes to take the joy out of playing before the game really begins.

Well. Good luck. But I will prefer a mod which fixes tens of problems (including Necromancer) and has long history of the development.

The balance mod is a rat king of outdated, bad, and unclean edits where every comment is asking about compatibility patches because it wrecks far too many packs in ways it can't even keep track of. This mod is precise and concise.

At best, the balance mod is a pile of spaghetti garbage that only makes the game easier; the point here is to make the game harder. Not to mention that the balance mod does nothing this mod does, or that the balance mod fails to hinder snowballing possession on its own anyway.
