La Reina

Rule the ring with La Reina, an acrobatic grappler who wields the force of ferromagnetism! Use powerful grabs to combo opponents into her Steel-chair Slam, or magnetize yourself towards the chair for jaw-dropping aerial stunts. No matter the odds, her fans will be there to back you up and cheer you on.



Deep beneath the mountains, a humble worker ant enjoyed a simple life in an iron mining village. Gifted with control over the forces of ferromagnetism, she used her powers to aid the mine and bring a quiet prosperity to her home. But when conflict between the Air and Fire Nations plunged Aether into war, demand for the village's metal increased dramatically. Its easy-going lifestyle collapsed into a frantic struggle to extract iron from the earth as the mine's workforce fractured into competing factions. Foremen began to ignore safety regulations in favor of efficiency, and many of the ant's former coworkers were injured in ensuing accidents.

Distraught by what the village had become, the ant decided to use her powers for change. She donned a mask and took up the persona of La Reina, a wrestling hero-queen who could inspire the workers. She organized spectacular wrestling bouts with opponents from across Aether, drawing crowds from every nation thanks to her acrobatic stunts and magnetic personality. La Reina now tours the land, encouraging her flourishing fanbase to band together, demanding an end to the war and better working conditions for all.



MAGNETIC THRONE - La Reina summons a steel chair with her Neutral or Down Special. While the chair is out, La Reina can use her Neutral special to magnetically spin it towards herself, or Down Special to pull herself towards the chair.

FERROUS FANBASE - La Reina's loyal fans follow her to all her matches to support her. If she falls offstage while grappling an opponent or her chair, her fans will raise a temporary wrestling ring so she can keep fighting.

POLARITY PILEDRIVER - La Reina's signature finishing move, Up Special propels her skyward to grab an opponent before slamming them into the earth. It gains significant power when falling from greater heights: land it up high for show-stopping knockouts!


La Reina thrives in her opponent's space, and her trusty steel chair is here to make sure it happens on her terms!


The chair blocks most projectiles, granting La Reina time to find an angle to approach.


La Reina can launch the chair near the opponent's space, then quickly close the distance by magnetizing herself to it with Down Special.

No double jump? No problem! Uair can grab the chair immediately after summoning it, allowing La Reina to call on her fans to restore almost all of her resources. This can be done even while very close to the blast zone, allowing for otherwise impossible recoveries.




The Throne
La Reina brings out her steel chair with either a wide swing (neutral special) or a downward slam (down special). She can then hit or grab the chair to reposition it. Opponents can hit the chair to reposition it and temporarily prevent her from recalling it.

While the chair is out, both Neutral and Down special change to interact with it:

Neutral special - Magnetic Recall: Hold neutral special to magnetically attract the chair and activate its spin attack. If neutral special is held while the chair is nearby, La Reina will catch it and put it away.

Down special - Ferrous Flip: La Reina somersaults, magnetically attracting herself towards the chair. This can be canceled into a double jump, and recharges when La Reina lands (indicated on the HUD by a magnetic outline around the chair icon.)

Loyal Fans
If La Reina falls off stage during a grab, her fans will raise a temporary wrestling ring to support her and keep the fight going. Her fans have limited energy, however: If La Reina falls during a grab more than one time before returning to the stage, her fans can only send up a table instead. The table will break under La Reina’s weight and cause her to enter pratfall.

Grab Options
Some of La Reina’s grabs have different throw options:
Hold backward during Forward Strong to suplex the opponent.
After grabbing an opponent with Forward Special, hold forward, downward or backward to throw the opponent in different directions.

The Insect Elbow
Dash attack can drop off of platforms and becomes a spike after falling a short distance. Use a double jump to cancel it and recover if you fall too far.

Polarity Piledriver
Up Special is a powerful finisher that gains significant knockback growth while falling.

Photoshoot Favorite
Taunt can be held or canceled into itself for different poses, to better flex on your opponents. :)
