You can try Rhinoceros from the Vanilla+ submarine collection as your Tier 2. It's sort of a successor to the Mule, which I released very recently. Another Transport class submarine which utilizes similar shapes and room placement, while still feeling like a different experience.
The command room window is a downside I'm particularly fond of, because I had a mission once where we were moving forward at full speed, I was on the front turret, and I watched a lone mudraptor fly into that window like a bug on a motorway. It went clean through the glass and towards our captain, barely losing any speed.
(Also, I just installed the third coilgun, and now I don't have to worry about Mudraptors hitting into the ballast rooms.
- It is a well-designed sub, despite the first-outlook from a beginner. It sails smooth and is easy to navigate. The cargo holder is spacious enough to earn me 3k marks for the Biohazard mission.
- As this is a transport submarine, its armaments are lacking in terms of available directions, only covering the top and half of the front & back; nevertheless, it deals with enemies efficiently, especially when right below them. For the submarine of such class, I give it a large plus.
- The only considerate minus I can give out here is the vurneable hull, especially the window in the Command room.
Overall, great sub. Feels surprisingly relaxing to sail it through Cold Caverns. Solid 8/10
