The Helios station is a single face orbital waystation that is a common sight in Artemis over most planets, moon, and around the surrounding asteroid field surrounding Artemis.

Capable of docking a single large craft in the main docking area in front, two separate docking points for utility craft on the rear, and two landing pads for travel oriented small craft; this station functions as both a repair bay, refuel/restock station, and can operate as a layover for traveling citizens.

During wartime, most stations in restricted areas are required by law to function in a military capacity in that they prioritize military craft for repairs and more. When not in an affected area, the stations dotting the upper space often play a similar function for civilians passing through, operating as market/contract hubs, and rest points for weary travelers.

Helios station itself has in fact been involved with combat functions once during a predeploy test where the SOR attacked it and a prototype Gen 4 cruiser defended it. It was Christened with the same name as the station in honor of its efforts to defend the station despite it being notably outnumbered.

Presently, this station is used in its current form, however, in more commonly contested areas, the OWS is able to be linked with another model to create a larger dockyard and double its facilities. These are also most frequently protected by a dedicated squad that use it as a base. Civilian use is restricted in these units and usually are refused access due to the nature of their function as dedicated military assets.
