Welcome to Java, where dutch colonial era railway network meets japanese fleet

Opened in 1996, this branch line was originally a part of a much larger loop line project though the plan was scrapped due to 1997 Asian Financial Crisis.

In 2007, passenger service was halted leaving the line abandoned until 2013 where a freight service was opened. Passenger service continued in 2015 following the electrification of this line.
