Rhubarb

With her powerful artifact, The Scepter of Tainted Torrents, Rhubarb possesses complete control of the sewers and dominates the shady underground of Merchant Port. Any and all goods flowing through the black market first flow through Rhubarb’s domain, the sprawling, cavernous underground sewer system.

Rhubarb craves power, but, for most of her long reign as Baroness, her sphere of influence was limited to the Merchant Port underground. However, after the burning of Merchant Port at the hands of Zetterburn, an opportunity arose for her influence to seep into the citizens of the town.

With their homes and businesses destroyed, many commoners were forced to turn to illicit means to build up from the residue of their previous way of life. In one way or another, they all turned to Rhubarb and her secret chain of command to help them bounce back, albeit indebting themselves to her in the process.

Slowly but surely, the reputation of the Baroness has creeped far beyond Merchant Port. Folks from all regions of Aether now seek the help of “Auntie Rhubarb” in times of great need, and come prepared to pay a steep price.


SEWER SICKNESS - Rhubarb’s sludge-based attacks apply stacks of Sewer Sickness. Once the opponent is at full stacks, they develop symptoms of the disease for a short period of time. This disease weakens them—temporarily reducing their damage output by 30% for 15 seconds and slowing them down in high concentrations of sludge.

SLUDGE SLINGING - Rhubarb has several ways to hit her opponent with sludge from a distance to keep them at bay. Her Up, Forward, and Back Aerials all throw a sludge projectile, and the second hit of her Forward Tilt does as well.

CESSPOOL - Down Special places a cesspool on the ground that slows opponents with full stacks of Sewer Sickness. It also has a unique interaction with Forward Special and Up Special as well as Down Strong. Cesspool makes Forward Special erupt with a strong hitbox at the start of the geyser's lifespan. Landing on cesspool with Up Special makes the puddle splash outward, slinging sludge outwards in both directions. Using Down Strong on top of cesspool will allow her to remain submerged for longer and move left or right to reposition herself before attacking. Down Special can also be used in the air to summon a wave of sludge from the sky.
