Railgun Cannon Test type - 03

Project Report:

This is a proof of concept contraption of a Railgun, which uses electromagnetic forces to accelerate a projectile trough a long barrel at very high speeds, causing massive damage. This is how railguns work (roughly) in real life.

Thus, this cannon fires a real projectile using electromagnets at roughly 1200 m/s or 4320 km/h. This speed is around 3.5 times the speed of sound, enough to destroy most contraptions in one shot.

However, due to limitations of ppg physics, the collisions between the projectile, barrel and object hit sometimes happen unexpectedly or do not happen at all due to the high speed of the projectile, as well as how ppg handles high speed collisions, leading so occasional oscillation in trajectory, and also the projectile passing through the supposed target in some instances when the target is too close to the cannon.


As a result, the following Controls operations are advised:

Controls:

- Press and hold Backquote (key to the left of 1: `) - do not release before projectile fired.

- Before firing, drag the projectile out of the cannon and copy it for ease of reload

- When reloading, spawn a projectile inside the cannon's chamber, make sure it is moved as far back to the left as possible, and then hold backquote to shoot.

- Please raise the physics iteration to at least 128, the higher the iteration, the better the result
