The Boss Of The Boardwalk Surfs In!
The snarky, smug, delinquent cat from Breakaway Point is here to make her mark! In an effort to stand out for her step-brother's shadow, Wren took on a call for competition to not only prove that she's the best but to make sure the world knows it too. Just try not to get in her way or you'll certainly feel the sand once your face hits the ground.

Elemental Powers
  • WHIRLSPOOL - Using Neutral Special or Down Special, Wren will toss out her Whirlspool. It can only go a set distance away from her, but you can slowly pull it to you with Down Special or use Neutral Special to recall it. Can't be edgeguarded if there's a cyclone of water coming from behind you! You can even hit your strong sweet spots on it to increase the size of the hitbox!
  • RIPTIDE - Using any of Wren's attacks that use water will apply stacks of Riptide to the opponent. Then, when you use your Down Special, the opponent will be pulled to you or take more hits when knocked into your Whirlspool.
  • CATCH SOME WAVES - Wren's Forward Special can be used to ride the Whirlspool for increased horizontal movement or be used by Wren's Up Special to enhance its power.

Contest Lore:
From the boardwalk empire of Breakaway Point, a joint venture between the business tycoons of Julesvale and the busy people of Merchant Port, comes the "local delinquent boss", Wren! After Zetterburn's attack on Merchant Port impacted her home's imports, causing small businesses nestled under Julesvale's corporate lodgings to close, Wren found a way to get what she always wanted: the spotlight.

Using her control of the tide, and cash to get some (illegal) Water Trading Co. assets, this feline put together her Whirlspool and made the bold claim that she would not only take down Zetterburn but humiliate him for what he did to her hometown. With an egotistical fuel to her flame, there is just one question: where is Zetterburn?

A super adorable and fun character to play once you pick her up. Her attacks combo into one another extremely well, she's super enjoyable to play with, and she's incredibly balanced - which are three of the most important aspects of a character imo, on top of the fact that her spritework is masterfully done.

love the character sm but her NSpecial nerf (the one where a single enemy attack disables it) is so damn rough,,, :steamsad:

The 30-ish frame delay between inputting special to recall the whirlspool and actually recalling it is absurd. Part of the fun of recalling it is being able to ping-pong your opponent, especially since the thing doesn't stay in one place and you have to adapt to its position if you ever plan on following up on it. What it was before was perfect, or at least cut the delay by well over half.

Down Special absolutely does not pull in the enemy, even if they have Riptide. It just. Doesn't. Work. The animation plays, and they don't go anywhere.
