Lumina and Void - Sonic Shuffle

Garry's Mod ports of Lumina and Void from the Sega Dreamcast game Sonic Shuffle. With Sonic Dream Team out now, I thought I would try porting some of the "OG" dream world Sonic characters.

These were ported from models on models-resource. The models were in the sub-standard quality that's typical for rips on the site, but were fixable for porting.

I smoothed the weight painting a bit around the torso for them. The rigging for the elbows and knees are each set up with a second bone for adjusting the bend. These were for working around the 1-weight-per-vertex limit of the original engine. I could adjust the rigging to better suit the Source engine if anyone wanted me to.

These were the models used for cutscenes (the gameplay models were ripped as .obj's, which don't support bones). I've given them various flexes for faceposing. If the flexes weren't enough, I added some bones for manual lip posing (which was easy since their mouths are lowpoly).

Lumina is supposed to be smaller, but the stand pose starts breaking at smaller sizes. You'll have to use a ragdoll resizer to get a more accurate size for her (if anyone even remembers her actual size).


I only make ragdolls and props. You'll have to ask someone else if you want something else.
