Japan has one of the weakest trees in HOI4. This mod aims to fix that.

Japan has a very interesting political situation and a lot of room to expand but the vanilla (and Waking the Tiger) focus tree fails to live up to this. I wanted something different. A quick look into the leaders and their factions.

Toseiha (Fascist): Interested in securing the Southern resource area (Nanshin-ron). A more radical thought has also occurred to go for the Western resource area (Seishin-ron) (Middle East) for oil.

Prime Minister Konoe: Opposed to the war with the Allies but embracing the war with Japan. Once the military starts to look to the South, what will happen to him?

Kodoha: More interested in fighting the Soviets and securing resources in the Northern resource area (Hokushin-ron)

Emperor Hirohito: While his signature was required on everything, most plans were made by the leaders in the Army and Navy. Can he take back control of affairs and lead his country against the new Communist menace? or against the imperialists? Forming an alliance with the historical ally of Poland?

Civilian Wing: Wants to open up the country to democratic elections. Can they win the civil war? If they do win, will they be the Anti-Imperialists democratic force? Will they join the Allies? or form the Trans-Pacific Treaty with the United States?**

Japanese Communist Party: Can they wait for the Civilian wing to open up elections and seize them? Will they continue down the path of social reform and maintain the elections, looking for Asian Communist Solidarity? or will they ban the elections and go down the path of Stalinism?

What will you do with this new Japan?

• Expanded Fascist Tree with Chinese Occupation Mechanics
  
• Completely redesigned Kodoha (Non-Aligned) Path with a (somewhat historical) alliance with Poland! Stop the Germans and the Soviets! or go Anti-Imperialist!
  
• Expanded Democratic tree to include Anti-Imperialist, Allies, and Trans-Pacific (American) alliance! Become the guardian of Democracy in Asia!
  
• After the elections are secured, you can radicalize your people to Communism in a completely redesigned communist tree. Will you go Stalinist and join the Comintern? or will you go Trotskyist and form the Asian Communist front?
  
• Use the added Industrial Tree to develop Japan! (Expanded steel production, infrastructure, and civilian industry)
  
• Use the redesigned military to tree to buff your army, navy, and airforce effectiveness and production!
  
• Use the new Balance-of-Power for Army vs Navy to determine how you want to prioritize or strike a balance!
  
• Use the Imperial Protectorate (or colonial if democratic) system similar to Germany's Reichskommisariats.
