It's so compact and easy to get around. With its crew quarters, cargo bay, engineering, medical and bridge areas, it reminds me of the Rocinante from The Expanse.
I am making a derivative that uses laser drills, with cockpits fore and aft. My plan is to put ice drills on one end and asteroid drills on the other. May I have your permission to post to the workshop when it is done?
Never did get the garden added, changed it out for additional storage myself. Served me well having some more smaller boxes for organization.
All in all this was one of the best CVs for the start that I've used.
Generally speaking, a smaller more mobile mining ship with a carrier type CV - or even better a base with some furnaces - will serve you better if you can afford it. I would change as soon as resources allow it.
The Exhumer and M1 Miner combination, worked well for me in the past, even though the Exhumer is a bit dated by now.
And thanks for the compliment! :)
We're currently using the ship on the Anvil Server and have been able to accumulate resources quite well with it, even though we haven't managed to get out of the starting systems directly.
I'm the main miner in our group, and I'm considering where the ship could be improved. The drills can be quite exhausting to use sometimes, depending on the shape of the asteroid. Could we exchange the drills for lasers? But I believe RE only allows for 8, right?
Is there any other sensible intermediate step, or should I just save up for the Exhumer + a small miner?
But otherwise, big compliment; I like the industrial design of the M2A, and it really feels like you're out there with heavy equipment.
Cheers,
David
