Operation Astonia by CPF

描述
Operation Astonia was a battle fought from September 10 to 12, 1944, shortly after the end of the Battle of Normandy, during the Allied advance from Paris to the Rhine, during World War II.
The Allies' objective was the capture of the port of Le Havre, occupied by German forces.
The attack on this stronghold, then described by British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery as "one of the most fortified on the Atlantic Wall",
consisted of a combination of elements of both the Canadian and British armed forces, with the participation of naval and air units, which was described as a "model of combined operation" thanks to the victory in just three days after the first assault.
