On first login, it takes a few minutes to retrieve your existing profile and things.

How and why:
How-
The existing profiles from before the shutdown are still tied to Xbox Live in some way and your Xbox Live gamertag / info is what is what is shown for your GFWL profile.

Why-
You need one of the last installers for GFWL that were provided before the game selling part of the service was shutdown which also fixes the can't get past enter screen problem that many have. Then everything works fine.

The GFWL installer that comes with the game is very old and meant to be updated after first install but since the service itself closed and the one that comes with the game was never updated, you have to get the last one available yourself.
