RD-01 Caltrop Minelayer

The Caltrop anti tank minelayer is an experimental vehicle, that never quite managed to get out of the R&D phase, due to scepticism in regards to some of its major flaws. The idea behind this vehicle was to give the Khertland army a weird mix between a support vehicle and an indirect line of fire artillery. What sounded good on paper was unfortunately not quite as good in real combat situations. While the smart mines were indeed formidable and could take out the occasional tank, be it used as an actual mine or launched straight at the enemy akin to a guided explosive frisbee, the main drawback came in the form of the mine itself and not so much the vehicle. Even though it was called a smart mine, it did not really differentiate between friend and foe. Thus causing quite a few friendly fire issues, when used in greater numbers. As such the Khertlandian army has phased out this minelayer even before it really got put into any use.

Though only few were ever produced, some of these minelayers can still be found locked away in the weapons depot of the occasionl rather excentric general, not having any qualms in regards to ethical norms.

1x Missile interceptor pod.
1x Rotating mine removal flails (rotating ERA using mimics to counter incoming missiles).

Cost: Approx. 14k RP.
