Rucoon's Pole Hop

描述
The gate is found to the right of the top SU shelter! This is a collection of almost every bit of pole hop content I have ever made, old and new. Over 15 hours of hoping action; plenty of arena levels and three regions. The Checkpointer mod is recommended to not have to walk back to the first pole after falling every time.

NOTE: Yes, this region is a bit hard, there is a easier path you can take after the first few rooms so make sure you go that way first! I do want to add some easier stuff before the main region later.

Region is WIP, but if I don't release it now I will never get around to it lol

Yes it's a lot of work to get good enough! When I was making this it took 10 hours to finish the first time, now my best is 34 minutes! I'm sure I have 150+ hours of pole hop.

People lack guidance to distinguish and master the pole-hop techniques that might exist. If I hadn't used the Debug - BodyChunk Visualizer mod for comparison, I might still not be able to distinguish the difference between a four-frame hop and a five-frame hop after hours of practice.

Moreover, setting reaching the 50th room as the goal is almost like mastering a new rhythm game. If the person challenging this goal were me, I would still need to practice for at least 100 hours.

There is a lot of stuff I could do with throw boosts for more speed but having to regrab the rocks is frustrating. (There is one room like this around half way up.)
And the Watcher does have something they can do, but it's also annoying with how it is set up so I ended up making a mod that does the same kind of thing, maybe I'll make rooms for that later.

Also, I've not added the final region to this mod as no one has even managed to make it up to room 50 let alone do the extra rooms in the main region.

If you discover other more difficult pole-hop techniques in the future, will you add them to this map?
Alright, I actually wanted to share my torment experiences in this regard. Someone will send it to you hahaha(*Evil laugh)

Their jumps are a bit too big to work well for this, and it puts you into a flip so you can't pole hop from them sadly. I'm sure some neat levels could be made for them though, I did want to do some rooms for riv hops or any of the higher air speed slugs at some point.

Well via the power of finding a template mod I made one that stuns you when you grab onto the poles. I'll have it be a required mod when I next update the region which will be soon-ish.:tm:
