A commissioned seasonal map, mission statement to draw inspiration from Stalker, SCP, and my earlier Exclusion Zone map. Slightly rushed, not as feature-rich or spooky as I wanted, but it provided a chance to experiment with scripted maps, providing some insight I hope I can use in the future.

The Zarvinya Event saw the entire region evacuated, after an unknown disaster - thought to have been an impact event - released what was reported as a bombardment of gamma radiation over a radius of several kilometers. Since then, the area has been under intense, yet highly classified scientific scrutiny.

Although security guarding the exclusion zone are under orders to shoot trespassers on sight, that has not stopped some individuals, ranging from looters to amateur researchers, from entering. Some of those few who returned have shared evidence that does not correspond with the official story: There's something at the center of the zone. It's not radiation. And it's expanding.

Of course, you already knew that.

I decided to give this a try, and I have to say it was an entertaining challenge. The equipment cemetery and the bog were the hardest sections (is there a limit to how many amalgamations can spawn?), but I eventually managed. I have to say I was not expecting the ending.

The only technical bug I can think of is that the silo you are apparently supposed to snipe from is not usable due to the fog density completely obscuring the far bank of the river.

This was a genuinely fun experience. My only major complaint that many others have said is that the equipment cemetery is near impossible to go through with the infinitely spawning amalgams. I hope that was just a bug because the only way I got through it was some parkour and a copious amount of Caps Lock spamming.

this thing sucks, the equipment cemetery spawns unlimited monsters while only giving you a shotgun, no way to get past it:steamthumbsdown:
