To celebrate the belated birthday of Thinking With Portals and the release anniversary of Portal, Thinking with Portals having a little mapping challenge. Rather than a competition, however, we’re doing 2 challenges, celebrating the 2 major divisions of Portal design! A Hammer mapping challenge, and a puzzle making challenge.

were tasked with Hammer-ising Demon Arisen's Catharsis, but also had to keep the elements to the voxel-grid found in the original Puzzlemaker map.

were tasked with creating a puzzle utilising a randomly rolled element combination. In this case, the rolled elements were "Auto-Portals" & "Portalable/Non-Portalable Piston Platforms", a tough combination. Nonetheless, the participants were tasked with the additional requirement of only being allowed to use Puzzlemaker (& BEEmod).
