Sqibidek might not look like much, being a small squid-like creature that's only half the size of an average human being, but they are actually a highly technologically advanced species. Perhaps the most famous thing about them is how they replace their body parts or even their entire bodies with mechanical ones. It started as merely replacements for missing or damaged parts that function no differently than the real thing. As time went on, though, they started to make them not just replacement parts, but improved ones, with handy tools replacing the tips of their tentacles. Soon, the Sqibidek started replacing their body parts, not for medical reasons, but to improve their original form. Eventually, they starting replacing their entire bodies with machines, sometimes to the point where the only part remaining from their original form is their brain, and even then, some uploaded their minds to machines, leaving not a single scrap of organic material left. They are from my mind-story "BYWD", short for "Beyond Your Wildest Dreams", which perfectly describes the aliens seen in the story.
