Maxwell Jacob Friedman signed with AEW ahead of the promotion's debut and quickly established himself as one of the company's bright young stars. The gifted heel is a natural on the mic and can more than hold his own in the squared circle.

The two-time winner of the Dynamite Diamond Ring briefly joined the Inner Circle before breaking away and forming his own stable, The Pinnacle. He has had memorable feuds with Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho thus far in AEW, and he appears to have an extremely bright future at the top of the card.

After a lengthy absence, MJF returned under a devil mask at All Out 2022, winning the Casino Ladder Match before revealing himself as the winner at the end of the PPV. He cashed in his poker chip for a title shot against Jon Moxley a few months later and won the AEW Championship for the first time.

MJF defended the title multiple times in 2023 before teaming up with rival Adam Cole as one-half of Better Than You Bay Bay and slowly turning face on the way to winning the ROH World Tag Team titles.
