Uteodon MTAA

A result of various Coalition black projects and several failed experiments, the Uteodon represents the first combat deployment of directed energy weapons by Coalition forces. With two sets of twin particle accelerators, the platform releases a focused lance of relativistic matter that impacts the target with explosive force. While initially intended for use in the anti-armour role, the sudden scattering of these particles upon leaving the accelerator rendered the weapon unusable for its original purpose; but this wide-angle release made it optimal for the engaging of aircraft. The design constraints imposed by the extremely large engine required to power the particle accelerators resulted in a rather tall, stubby design as compared to tanks of a similar weight, although it remains remarkably stable despite this fact. The vehicle is afforded additional slat armour in an attempt to counteract the effects on survivability, though how much this will do in prolonged combat remains to be seen. Increased rates of cancers amongst crews remains an unproven rumour, and one which all official studies have found false.
