Update: Now made - U - Universal for[Vanilla/Reforged 2]

This Wasteland Series 1.11+, - U - Universal[Vanilla/Reforged 2] cheap Class 1, Core 2, Level 10, Early explorer/hauler is a starter CV. Comes with full medical, bed, shower, small constructor, 4 miniguns, 7 Sentrys, and 1 large 4.5k fridge. For storage there are 2 container controller at around 300k along with 7 color coded and speed sorted cargo boxes. Has enough thrust to lift around 7 kilotons at 1g nearly 20 kilotons in Vanilla(overkill but great for high G planets).

Uses all stock Vanilla assets for universal compatibility for use in most scenarios.

This has what I would like in a starter CV/portable base.

Quite a bit of Neodymium is required for all the thrust.

I make a version for myself that has shield, 1 large shield charger, 1 additional basic core, 2 additional large generators, without losing cargo space. If I should need to warp, I just slap a warp on the outside that is kept in storage as needed.

Thanks Magiroth I appreciate the feedback. I too like roof access. You can remove the Armor locker and put a door there. I also occassionally have problems with the front (optional) sentry. So just remove it.

I think I will rearrange the top thrusters so it isnt so awkward.

Its early game purpose was to get enough resources to get more capable larger ships and advance faster in the game. Then just use it for autominer maintenance or dismantling POIs later in game.

I've been using it on my current playthrough and have had few complaints with it. I am particularly pleased by the clever placement of the shower and having one large storage container. For its role as an early game CV starter, it does the job magnificently. My only complaints would be bursting into fire if I go too far back into the ship, and sometimes struggling to get past the defense turret in front of the entry ramp. I also like most of my ships to have internal roof access because I usually park a SV up there, but I recognize that would compromise the compact interior. The ladder on the side works fine.

Thanks Soridar! I'm sorry! Did you haul stuff with it? It's just a simple early game hauler with warp and shield. Complete medical and shower is very handy early in game when you are broke and have only the smallest garden.

The two cargo boxes used for upgrades were only really used for sorting to maximize your 640k storage. The thrusters are well out of the way preventing any danger. Very useful for me in single player. With two players I'm sure you can find something on the workshop to suit your needs. Roof Access? This CV has a front door right there.

No loss of storage(can double the volume in Reforged) at a different price point(cheap) and upgradeable too. 2 players should be able to obtain this easily. Give me your honest opinion..

Sorry if my post seems like I am trying to be a jerk, just give real user feedback. We used it for nearly 4 days, playing casually.

Also, to reiterate, it does look cool.

I tried this out and I have to say that no one else who has commented has done so. This ship is trash. It doesn't upgrade for nothing and what little space there is goes the way of the dodo in 2 shakes of a stick. This ship is a glorified noob hauler at best and at worst it is a time sink that gets you something that looks cool.

I normally don't trash build but this one needs a serious bit of TLC. stretch the length by 2 blocks, fix the upside down med bay (that is just plain annoying), add roof access, remove the thrusters from over the door (adds nothing to maneuvering there anyways), cpu upgrade shouldn't come at the loss of storage.

I love the look of the ship, but trying to actually use it was just a complete nightmare. Both my friend and I had the same thoughts. We both felt disappointed in the overall usefulness of it compared to the many other started we have used.

Just saw JRandall's review on this. Looks good. Love the compactness of the build / great use of space and it seems extremely newbie friendly.

Would love to see a "big brother" version i.e. same style and shape but a size class 3-4.

Thanks Yataro! I was caught by surprise by the popularity. He reviewed an incomplete version I was working on(my fault). Actually has 640k, shower, and now a less pointy nose.
