Early Rail #1: The Beginning

描述
This is a series of mods that opens up 50 years worth of gameplay. In conjunction with the Early Start mod, you can now start in 1800 with a full roster of vehicles. Each of these mods can function separately, and the whole set is not required.

The Beginning
This mod supplies some of the very first rail vehicles, including a lot of early infrastructure.

Wooden Waggonway:
The most basic of railways, some wooden planks laid parallel with ties between

Iron Tramway:
Simple wooden beams topped with an iron rail head, set on stone blocks.

Fishbelly Rail:
Small cast iron sections of rail set on stone blocks.

The vehicles in this pack will take you from the very dawn on railways, this includes horse traction (assets supplied by Gr1m).

Vehicle list:
Draft Horse
3x Horse 'locomotives' of varying power
Trevithick 1804 type locomotive
Trevithick 1808 'London' type locomotive
Puffing Billy
Killingworth Type locomotives (1815, 1817)

Not only that, there is a full roster of waggons too, so you can ship anything and everything with the old vehicles.

I really like this mod. Especially the early path signal.
Unfortunately, some files seem to be missing. I'm a complete novice at TPF2 modding, but from my perspective, at least the file for the UI icon and the texture files 'signal_path_metal_gloss_ao.dds' and 'signal_path_normal.dds' are missing. Maybe more. Would it be possible to add the missing files to the download?

I agree. The iron tramway wagons are superior to the later wagons in all aspects except purchase price and running cost. My idea for a nerf would be to reduce their top speed from 41 km/h to 30 km/h.

for some reason the new rail types wont be in my game, any idea why that would be?

Steve Emfore: Can you tell me how to set up wooden rails so that they can reach speeds of at least 50 kilometers per hour? Instead of 15 km. I want to launch the first steam locomotives with these trailers on them. After all, steam locomotives can reach speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour! They will be a great replacement for horses!

I think your wagons need nerfing in terms of weight-to-cargo, as it is I'm reaching 1850 and having a hard time justifying transitioning from a 4 cargo to 0.7 ton wagon to a more modern 4 cargo to 5 ton wagon.

from what i've seen so far, the mod works almost entirely fine, the only issue is the cockpit camera of the Trevithick 1808 'London' type is attached to one of the wheels instead of the main body. idk if this has already been addressed or not but i felt like it was worth mentioning

@oldhip It is likely you have either set up your new game incorrectly with mods or you have another mod that is interfering with Early Rail and Early Start.

Ensure you have Early Rail #1 enabled in your mod list as without it you will have no vehicles.

I had the same problem with hidden vehicles showing up in menu. Turns out it was from the Urban Games no vehicle end year mod causing it.

@myrlad These vehicles are meant to be hidden as they are menu items. You may have another mod enabled that shows these hidden vehicles. These mods can sometimes mess up the grouping mechanic.
