描述
I tried to fix a few materials not playing sounds and added a footstep replacement fix that doesn't ♥♥♥♥ with the playerfootstep hook (credits to GaussTheWizard and his cool mod DSteps).
I used this privately for a long time, but maybe people need this.

the gear sound is not embeded in the actual footsteps. it's an addition.

the gear sounds are embedded into the sounds themselves i think. dont remember exactly, didnt look into the src code and stuff for a long time

modify the source code (it's not that hard, just need to change the volume of a few emitsound functions)

is there any addon you can recommend that adds the sound of cloth to your footsteps?

idk it's probably some conflict or you're playing in a weird setting (for example running a local server through your game. it's kind of finnicky in source engine games)
