Kwyribu are herbivorous forest-dwelling Kwyex species, that looks and acts like the deer of Earth. They're the first of the "Mamtiles", descendants of the Kwyex (which is a reptile) that look like mammals (which Kwyex are not).

There's just something that doesn't feel right about a reptile looking so much like a mammal. But things will get much weirder later on...
