This is my Modlist for Tower of Babel - The biggest Modlist Worldwide ( I think :D )

Started on 6th September 2023 WIP. - Nov 28th 99% stable now. getting a Revival 2025 ITS NOW !

If you get "non error" crashes make sure to > remove classes you dont like - buffer crashes are 99% too many trinkets/classes!

To get this Modlist to run, you have to do some steps before&after installing the modlist.


0. Make sure to create a second Steam Libary which is not in the common path of progams / programs x84 / 64 > guides are on youtube
( best case make a libary directly on C: / D: / E: )


1. Make sure your game is on the english language

2. Add commands to starting options in your steam game settings.
( -disable_monster_pre_loading -additional_max_resource_entries -skiptutorial )

3. Swap your game version to "Beta- coming in hot"

4. Change the number for .max_resource_entries to 18000 or higher.
( steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\shared\resource_manager_setup )

5. Download and "install" the free unofficial patch from patreon ( darkest.exe_fix_v4.0 )
follow the instructions on: https://www.patreon.com/posts/important-bug-64803991

6. The Modlist is split into Parts. it is very important to install them in the right order, or it will mess up the load order.
( For me its sorting it reverse somehow so i start with the last to the first )

AFTER INSTALLING

7.Go to your modfolder usually "Workshop" in Steam folder or Mod folder in Darkest Dungeon look/search for :
1689631977 > campaign > town >town.layout.darkest and change those settings to fix the cut off right side of hero lvl's.

8. To fix the provision window we replace all lines in the
"953578540" modfolder "hell.provision.layout" with:

NOTE that steam might have changed the way mods are loaded into the load order , changing from first mods to last mods ingame and up side down now, start from 8) Skins up to 1) > if that is the case for you aswell.

You will need the Better Mod Menu for load order tweaks ingame

Patch/Change Notes:

2023 - 1 hour stable gameplay no crashes.
Increased the number of collections for faster/easier install, fixing load order and missing patches.
Removed Quest Map Collection to avoid conflicts , adjusted Banshee Boss Missions. fixing load order stuff
Longer Hero Names removed to avoid conflicts, added less xp mod for slower progression.

Alot of load order changes to fix several issues where wrong events overlap more important ones.
readded longer hero names , readded quest map collection after fixing load order

No crashes ~10 hours playtime , trying to reduce/adjust heirlroom drops because of too fast progression.
No crashes ~20 hours playtime , everything works good so far , Shop issue solved, 1 enemy/boss mesh file seems to be missing , load order adjusted to improve modded areas to open up.

Playtesting
~4 hours playtesting > another crash after finishing mission ~50hours 2-3 crashes so far.

added a provision Mod , added 2 new classes , fixed issue with provisions not showing up , fixed blood vials not being shown. fixed overlapping in provision screen

Playtested arround 100hours

Savegame crashes probably some event broke it permanantly.
Tons of load order adjustments to fix minor visual bugs and errors,
removed better boss rewards to slow down progression , removed evolving diseases due conflicts ,
removed arena to avoid too much gold income , added Lectern of time lite to replace arena
removed reworked town events due conflicts with other events , removed Vermintide Mod supplies purchase to raise difficulty

Starting a new Savegame to find more conflicts and fix gamebreaking conflicts after the 100hour mark.

Full Party Wipe in lvl 1 Dungeon lol , Difficulty is now much higher , added new Hero , trying to fix missing images for trinkets via loadorder? , no crashes so far ~10hours gameplay , removed PBD trinkets & Patch because its provided by nomad wagon redone?

added "-skiptutorial" to avoid buildings not opening before additional dungeons , swapped out 2 classes to keep the game more lore friendly, added the heirs to the starting roaster to enable early game healing for new difficulty,

Alot of Load order swaps / changes , reducing the 1st category of mods to a minimum of ~20 rather then ~50,
Fixed a Bug with the Nomad Wagon and Provision Screen ( not sure what or if its fixed 100% )

Complete rearrangement of the whole modlist, moving patches to top , all should work now,
This is the biggest "patch" so far. the modlist should be 100% stable now , struggling with small non gamebreaking conflicts, that make the game easier and some trinkets have no images ( might be solved with removing 1 huge trinket rebalance mod ) soon.

Added a new category for skins , load order improvements , removed the manor and lecture of time due conflicts with other mods causing crashes.

Some trinkets still have missing images? Stability is very good 1 random crash on boss fight Necromancer , trying to improve load order removing / adding trinket mods for better compability.

2024 - Revisiting the List , planing to sort out classes that are missing dlc trinkets or are badly balanced , planing to sort out mods that cause problems,

Removed Extra Darkness Rewards to harsh the economy , removed 2 Classes because of bad animation / sound effects. replaced another 2 classes with two new ones to avoid buffer oversize that causes crashing on load.

Removed Modded Fallen Hereos because some of the involved Heroes are way too overtuned and end up being almost unbeatable, hitting like 50+ dogde before you can even act , having 2 actions per turn and not dropping anything good is never worth fighting and only spikes the difficulty to a level that is not enjoyable anymore.

Added a missing patch for Sunward , added a trinket mod for testing.
Removed level 2 and level 4 mod to keep the game harsher and because of conflicts, removed a animation mod that sounded cool but does not really do much in long term , removed level 2 and level 4 patches.
removed the banshee boss mission mod and its patches because it blocks out the region on new game added mist mod to make it optional and have solve a conflicts that was blocking mimic mini boss.

Removed "Prophet Class" love it but its way too overpowered and has missing trinket images. finally found the mod for that

Removed Marvins Seeker Wraith Class because its causing errors and game crash on use after its update.
added two new classes for testing.

2025 - REVIVAL

Added new bosses and enemies.
Sorting Load order to avoid crash on startup
Added and removes some new/old classes

Sep2025 - Added new monster types and tons of regional skins for monsters.

Will add a new Category for "balancing overpowered" Classes that are unique and i want to keep like Hierophant as example.
