Nice to see some appreciation!
-Press the Subscribe button above and the map will automatically be downloaded. KF will show up with a download complete message on the main menu, but you might need to restart the game for the map to show up on the map list;
-The manual way, which I assume you're trying to do. From your Steam folder, place the .rom file on the following path: Steam\SteamApps\Common\KillingFloor\Maps. Boot up the game and it'll show up on the map list.
My main inspiration was probably the classic Croft Manor from Tomb Raider, which was a separate level from the main game that you could explore and find tons of secret areas and goodies. And if the police car was actually an RC car, I'd say my inspiration would've been Re-Volt ;)
While I could still add a couple things to the map and maybe a slight improvement or two, it won't be necessary for this map, since the lobby will be used for a short time only during the tournament. It was a great learning experience though, so maybe one day I'll work on something more original in KF2.
Very nicely done, especially considering your limited experience with KF SDK. Thanks for sharing!
If you're not subscribed to the workshop item and prefer the direct download link, please update your map version ASAP with the link in the description.
