Note: This is not my mod, but rather a port of an old Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion mod with some additional content and fixes. Credit goes to the original creators of Arthurian Total War Raven Feeders. More information below.

This is a port of Arthurian Total War Raven Feeders v0.731 plus the v0.73a-1 patch and the Unofficial Fan Patch. Arthurian (Britain 481 AD to 685 AD) is a mod project based on Barbarian Invasion. Action will take place during Britain dark ages, in Britain, Ireland and Northern Gaul, from 481 AD to 685 AD. Factions; 11 Briton tribal factions, 3 Irish tribal factions, 3 Anglo-Saxon factions and France.

The Arthurian Total War campaign begins in AD. 481, 5 years after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, although Britain was officially "abandoned" over half a century before. The former Roman province of Britannia has collapsed into a shifting patchwork of sub-kingdoms and city-states, whose culture is of mixed Late Roman and British Celtic origin. Their disunity has been seized upon by Germanic foederati mercenaries, who have rebelled and invited more of their people to migrate to their newly won lands in eastern Britain from continental Europe, and who now threaten to overwhelm the existing order. Similarly, the isolated "British" people of Letau or Llydaw (the Bretons) are hard pressed by the Germanic Franks and remnants of the old Roman order. Beyond the Roman frontier, the Picts of Caledonia stir once more, and the introduction of Christianity is transforming the social and political landscape of Ireland, where new dynasties spar for precedence and for expansion and new lands in Britain over the ruins of their old hierarchy.

This port includes some additional content such as:

1) Added missing settlement banners in strat map, missing captain banners and missing building and unit cards
2) Added a new religion (Celtic Christianity) and associated religious buildings and traits
3) Added new buildings that were not part of the original mod
4) Removed 4 turns per year and reverted to 2 turns per year
5) Reduced building construction times and unit recruitment times
6) Added new ancillaries representing provincial and faction titles of the era
7) Germanic factions such as the Saxons, Jutes, and Angles can horde once they lose their last settlement
8) Fixed some CTDs related to historic events
9) Other small fixes and tweaks

Known issues:

1) There might be some flickering units in the battle map. Please let me know which units are flickering and I will try to fix them (I have no experience modifying 3D unit models but I will try my best).

@Lanjane Moreover, for King Arthur and others, the Roman Empire was a very important legacy. And in terms of gaming, you're definitely not just satisfied with the British Isles, right? I think it would be great to play King Arthur or the Kingdom of Soissons and rebuild the Western Roman Empire.

@Lanjane In fact, even King Arthur himself believed that he was the true heir to the Western Roman Empire. He had led an army to attack the Roman Empire before the decisive battle with his nephew Mordred, and even considered advancing to Rome for a while. So I think, since it's about the time of King Arthur and he wanted to recapture the Western Roman Empire, why can't we make a map of Western Europe? Or maybe just be bolder.

@Lanjane The Kingdom of Soissons has been committed to restoring the Western Roman Empire, but they are essentially Germans, not Italians. They wanted legitimacy and a pretext to restore the Western Roman Empire, but the Byzantine Empire refused them. In fact, even though the Western Roman Empire had already fallen, there were still many forces claiming to be the true inheritors of the Western Roman Empire, such as the Visigothic Kingdom, Lombard Kingdom, Frankish Kingdom, and so on. They all believe that they are the inheritors of the Western Roman Empire and have inherited it.

@Lanjane My personal opinion is that although I know this MOD is about King Arthur. But I find it a bit boring to often compete around the British Isles. Since it happened during the reign of King Arthur, why not let other European powers join in, such as the Kingdom of Soissons. It was the one who was later refused the title of emperor by the Byzantine Empire.

@Lanjane Will this MOD's big map be extended in the future? For example, the entire Western Europe. Or will it only revolve around the British Isles, which are the existing regions? Will you update the big map in the future?

It crashes again and again. I check the two tiles, the barbarian invasion one and the arthurian mod one. It appears an error message and then it crashes.

Yes it should be safe in other campaigns, chances of this bug happening are quite low.
I played four consistent campaigns as Romans, Franks, Picts and Elmet and everything was fine...

Hi Lenjane, so if I play another campaign, the chance of this bug happening is still relatively small, right? I was afraid all the future reinforcements will be broken.

I think that Saxons and Jutes receiving reinforcements from the continent is a nice, historical feature. I would opt to keep it, if possible.

Anyway, thanks for checking it and good luck with your projects. I'm waiting eagerly for the Barbarian Empires update with new factions!

I'm sorry for a late reply.
I have debugged your savegame and there are some good news, and some bad news. Pink portrait can be fixed but there's no way to "fix" the broken army.
Arthurian TW has some additional forces for Jutes and Saxons spawning to simulate the ongoing invasions. And when the scripted reinforcements are spawned on the same tile another army is standing, even if it's an enemy stack, it will still spawn and the armies will be merged into a buggy stack. This is rare but quite annoying event. We will see what can be done to avoid this, if possible, maybe disabling the spawns altogether.
