Etienne Class II Assault Gun-Railmod

The Etienne Assault Gun-Railmod is an old Hiraltayan assault gun that tests a new rail attachment similar to those seen on regular rifles. Bragged about by its engineers and top-level defense experts, this supposedly allows for modular optic and sensor equipment that can be replaced depending on the gun's mission type. While its designers patted themselves on the back for a job well done, the soldiers assigned to it in the field were experiencing the system's 'advantages' be stripped away by reality. From logistical issues preventing the correct sensors from being delivered in time for missions, cables getting caught in trees and disconnecting sensors, and occasionally optics simply sliding off the tank, the Railmod was a massive failure and never found its way to mainline production tanks.
Some of the Etienne Assault Guns fitted with the Railmod, however, are still seen near Hiraltayan front lines providing anti-fortification fire and helping engineering crews do their work. With this particular Etienne sporting large audio sensors on the top of its odd rail system and its massive rollcage, it's a strange sight for enemies and friends alike on the battlefield.
