Customisable Building & Barricade Health

Omschrijving
This mod adds six new sandbox settings that modify the health of buildings and barricades made by players.

The settings:
  • General Bonus: Adds to the health returned from the getWoodHealth function that is used for the health of almost every building aside from walls. Despite the name, this applies to both wooden and metal constructions. Fences, gates and miscellaneous furniture use this value.
  • Carpentry Bonus: Determines the bonus to health per carpentry level. It only applies to constructions affected by General Bonus.
  • Wooden Frame Health: The health of a wooden wall frame, which will then be added to the health of the wall built on it (the health added by walls isn't changed).
  • Metal Frame Health: The health of a metal wall frame, which will then be added to the health of the wall built on it (the health added by walls isn't changed).
  • Barricade Health Multiplier: Multiplies the health of player-built barricades. This can use decimal values.
  • Handy Bonus: Changes the bonus given to a construction's health from the handy trait. Like the carpentry bonus, this only applies to constructions affected by the General Bonus.



Although some mods may affect this, it should be possible to use this mod then remove it from a save, leaving the modified buildings with their increased health. Adding it mid-save, however, although technically possible, will require modifying the sandbox variables.

Please do tell me if there's anything I've missed. I've attempted to be thorough but it's perfectly possible that there are buildings that the mod doesn't change.

You can change the values although it won't apply to existing builds.

Honestly one of the better mods out there for this kind of stuff, I highly recommend but will say, not perfect and takes a while to get the right balance with custom settings, but has been a permanent addition to my mod list.

Not sure why so few downloads over the year considering the barricade and building mechanic in the original game is pretty lackluster with paper-thin buildings that collapse after a zombie hits it for ten minutes. This, plus long-standing wooden/long standing metal constructions, stronger furniture barricades, and mod to repair walls is all you need. Maybe eggon's mod to be able to take doors, too.

Hi Berry. I'm afraid that I wasn't able to figure that one out. It does bug me but, yeah, the code that controls that is managed in a location I've not found.

Hi Rabbit, did you ever figure out the opening/closing mechanic resetting gate hp back to default? My wire fence gate is always stuck at 500 :(

Hi Pooky. They should be affected by the general bonus rather than the frame ones; or at least they did so during testing. Please could you confirm if they're not affected by the general bonus for you?

Metal and wired fences do not use wall frames, you just weld the whole thing in place. So they don't get any stronger from this mod..
Would be nice to fix that=)
