Well, the description from the wiki.

Developed on the basis of the groundwork for the experimental T-80A tank in KB-3 of the Kirov Plant with the installation of dynamic protection. An experimental batch of several dozen vehicles was produced in Kharkov from December 1983 to December 1985 with the Kontakt-1 DZ (one was preserved in Kubinka). Adopted by the Armed Forces of the USSR on November 27, 1984.

Combat weight - 46 tons. Hull armor similar to T-80BV. A new turret with reinforced armor and "cellular filler" was used, originally developed in Kharkov for the "object 476". Installed: 9K119 “Reflex” guided weapon system and 1A45 “Irtysh” weapon control system (1G46 laser rangefinder sight, electronic ballistic computer, 2E42 stabilizer, TPN-4S PRN, TPN-4 Buran-PA/M combined night sight) , 125 mm 2A46M-1 gun, 902B Tucha smoke grenade launcher, 3ETs13 Frost fire-fighting equipment, new Kontakt-5 built-in ERA.

Since 1990, the GTD-1250 engine (1250 hp) and the 9K119M Invar guided weapon system have been installed

Combat use

Used by the 4th Guards Tank Division (Kantemirovskaya) during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The division operated in the Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions, participated in the battles for Trostyanets, from where it was forced out by the 93rd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the fighting, the Kantemirovskaya Panzer Division suffered heavy losses, and at the end of March retreated from the territory of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine[19][20][21].

Also, according to the Oryx project, in the spring, the destruction of a single copy of the experimental Russian T-80UM2[22][23][24][25] was recorded.

After the retreat of the 1st Guards Tank Army, of which the 4th Division is a part, from near Kyiv, two regiments of the 4th Division were redeployed to the Kharkov direction. During the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov region in September, the Kantemirovskaya division retreated from there, after which only visually confirmed losses of T-80U tanks amounted to more than 90 units, that is, a whole tank regiment. According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, during the year of the invasion, Russia lost 2/3 of the pre-war fleet of T-80BV / T-80U, and the division itself is specifically mentioned as having suffered heavy losses and lost its combat capability[26][27][28].
