AVHM HV30AC

描述
This is a modification of the ELT C1-40a to be more compatible with American Rails, however I still made lore for it. Don't think of the two as built by the same manufacturer, this is technically a completely different beast.

The Allegheny Valley Heavy Manufacturing (HV30AC) was conceived in 2018 when the local Allegheny Central Railroad partnered with various local businesses and brainstormed the idea to replace its aging fleet of ALCo locomotives in captive MoW service with a new, AC Traction diesel. One of the more odd design specifications was that this new diesel be able to operate in both directions without turning around and have equal visibility.

Coming out of the plant was a diesel unlike most on American rails. The design specifications included two cabs and a walkway connecting them so that the crew could quickly switch which side of the locomotive was being operated from. Numbered ACER 9900, the prototype HV30AC would be tested on a litany of trains between 2019 and 2020 where ACER placed an order for 4 more (9901-9904) which would work MoW trains through to the present day where ACER still maintains surplus ALCos to displace with this new locomotive.

However, the locomotive did not come without drawbacks. In testing, it was discovered that the locomotive was unable to maintain a tractive effort high enough to climb the Allegheny Mountains by itself, nor keep up with other locomotives of similar horsepower numbers despite it's C-C wheel arrangement. The prototype also suffered frequent overheating due to insufficient cooling, however this was remedied by a flared and larger radiator section. The Air Conditioning also frequently broke down and had to be replaced several times until a suitable alternative was found.

Finally, it was determined that the double-ended cab nature of the locomotive was redundant due to the fact the locomotive often could not operate heavy trains by itself and the prototype was often paired with an ALCo it was meant to replace. It is expected that ACER's next order for the HV30AC specify that the rear cab be removed to make space for more internal components to increase the locomotive's reliablity.

Changes from the C1-40a:
Replacement of the battery box with a fuel tank
Addition of radiators and fans
Addition of exhaust stack
Addition of Ditch Lights and PTC spec
