Halo 1 Pro Edition

The Official MCC port of Halo 1 Pro Edition V2 by Patch, hirsute & dds (originally released in August 2023)

Halo 1 Pro Edition mainly includes modifications to the series map lineup commonly used in 2v2. The modifications and concepts were developed by Patch (with the help of Bonesaw), as well as hirsute and dds. Many of the changes "smooth out the rough edges" in these maps, notably speeding up certain routes and opening up sightlines. The creators took great care not to disrupt the "spirit" of the maps. The result is a carefully-tuned collection of the best original maps and the most popular community-created competitive 2v2 maps released over the last 15 years.

Gameplay modifications include:

-Replaced flashlight with Taunt
-Audio timer (Cortimer by insidi0us)
-Plasma grenades stick to most surfaces
-Plasma Pistol overcharge shot can be used as a non-lethal "boost" for greater jumping height
-Plasma Rifle overheat now depletes the player's shield

NOTE: to play as intended, enable Hardcore Rules in the MCC gametype variant (under Slayer Rules) . This will remove spread on the pistol and unscoped sniper rifle, as well as mute various sounds. The Hardcore Rules setting in the MCC game variant closely resembles the settings used in the original Xbox version of Pro Edition as well as the popular NHE mod, which are used in most modern competitive Halo 1 events.
