Valern Frigate

"An old and dated design by the end of the 1st SDF - SRG war the Valern was a small frigate intended to act as an escort for larger slower vessels. Its armament consisted of 5 assault cannon turrets, 4 interior turret PDCs, and 2 static artillery guns. Combining this armament with its speed made the Valern an excellent pack hunter, able to close distance and pummel its targets with its main guns while the artillery gave it a good opening salvo. While many Valerns were retired from service after the 1st SDF - SRG war many found new life after being fitted with their own jump drives. Now capable of transporting themselves across large distances Valerns saw new use in many roles from escort and patrol to ship to ship combat."
