Tarian Assault Ship

"Being the first dedicated assault ship to enter RBN service the Tarian was a relatively simple ship designed to deploy mechanized RBN ground forces such as the Skchen Tank Destroyers. For this reason most of the ships hull is filled by the forward drop bay and 3 mechanical arms that can raise and lower mechs in and out of the bay, as well as slide around to adapt to different size mechs to an extent. While the bay was not originally designed for it, its open nature allows "hot drops" of certain mechs where they are deployed before reaching the surface and using their own methods of braking to land. This tactic is useful for landing in highly defended areas where the assault ship may not be able to safely approach until the area is secured. In ship to ship combat the Tarian is quite vunlerable for its size, only possesing 3 artillery turrets on the dorsal bow and 12 interior turrets scattered around the aft acting as PDCs. This combined with its light armor makes it very vulnerable to enemy ships when un-escorted."
