Better Kibble

描述
Better Kibble aims to be an all-in-one improvement to vanilla kibble and aspects relating to its usage, storage, and crafting. This mod is designed to enhance the gameplay experience for RimWorld players who utilize kibble as a primary source of nutrition for their animals.

Main Features of "Better Kibble" include:
  • Adds vegetarian kibble recipes in 10x and 100x quantities, including crafting kibble with only hay.
  • Adds kibble dispenser (and associated neolithic era research).
  • Substantially re-balances kibble by reducing value, slightly increasing cost to make, and significantly increasing nutritional value.
  • No decay for kibble, feed your outdoor animals without needing to build a barn.



Steam Workshop:
  • Open the Steam client and navigate to the RimWorld Workshop.
  • Search for "Better Kibble" in the Workshop search bar.
  • Click on the mod in the search results to access its Workshop page.
  • Click on the "Subscribe" button to download and automatically install the mod.



"Better Kibble" is designed to be a lightweight and highly compatible mod, and compatibility is built-in for some of RimWorld's most popular mods.

However, please be aware that any mods which directly interact with kibble may conflict with "Better Kibble" and result in unintended behavior or unbalanced gameplay. It is recommended to check the mod descriptions and community forums for potential conflicts or patches if you are using other mods that affect kibble mechanics.



Before using the "Better Kibble" mod, ensure you have the RimWorld base game installed. DLCs are not required to use Better Kibble.



Q: Can this be added mid-save?
A: Yes.

Q: Can this be removed mid-save?
A: Yes. Deconstruct or otherwise remove all of your kibble dispensers prior to uninstalling.

Q: Do I need the DLCs to use this mod?
A: No.

Q: Is this mod compatible with another mod?
A: Probably. This is an XML only mod, so the worst behavior that you should get is weird kibble. It's not likely to cause any crashes, and as long as the other mod doesn't modify kibble, it's unlikely there will be any conflict.

Q: I have a bug, and I think it's caused by this mod. What do?
A: Create a bug report post on the workshop page of the mod.

Q: Rimworld updated, but this mod hasn't yet. What do?
A: Life happens sometimes, but I will do my best to update all of my mods, including this one, as quickly as I can.

Q: I want to use your mod or pieces of your mod in mine, is that okay?
A: Yes. Review the LICENSE.txt file in the mod directory, and please credit me for my work in the documentation of your new mod, and on your steam workshop page.

Important to note that it never threw me an exception/error message while it was doing this, which made it hard to track down what was causing it.

A heads up that for some reason this mod made it damn near impossible for my colonists to tame animals using kibble. They would interact with the creature for a moment, then suddenly wander off to grab more kibble, come back to the creature, rinse and repeat.

I'm thinking it might have to do with the fact that it increased the nutritional value? That's the only thing I can think of. Maybe make that nutritional increase an optional toggle.

All I know is that once I removed this mod, my colonists were able to tame creatures as normal.

I don't know if anyone's asked this yet but why is it at the stove and not the butcher table (like vanilla)?

This mod has been updated for 1.6 and the Odyssey DLC. Right now the update is for compatibility and bringing the mod into the new version only, no new features specific to the DLC have been added. In the future when time allows, I will add additional content specific to Odyssey if there's a need.

Could you add the option to use kibble to tame animals? The Tame with Kibble mod use to do that but it hasn't been updated to 1.5 yet.
