I recommend use it with a deformer mod, but it's not necessary:

@Grott Yes must use it in editor or in Zeus. Composition wouldn't appear in mission itself

Make sure you've got it like I show in the last photo. Or try lower the trench with terrain. It could also be bug.

When I placed this composition trench, it was very chaotic. It didn't look like a trench, and all the materials were haphazardly stacked together.
