Halo: CEA Unlocked

Halo: CEA Unlocked is a mod aiming to remove, to the greatest extent possible, all limitations and restrictions imposed on the game missions by the developers, without breaking or significantly altering any essential aspects such as gameplay or mission flow, and effectively granting players full or more freedom of movement, exploration and experimentation.



MOD STATUS/UPDATES (TEMPORARY INFO)
The following levels are unpolished and pending the definitive update:
• The Pillar of Autumn
• The Truth and Reconciliation
• 343 Guilty Spark
• The Library
• Keyes



❗ Having multiplayer installed is currently only partially necessary only for the updated missions, as the ones mentioned above are old versions and have fully self-contained assets. (It will be fully required though once all of the missions are updated)


AUTOMATIC METHOD
The faster method but without remastered graphics available ❓

1. Click the "Subscribe" button. This will automatically download and install the mod into your game directory, ready to play.


REPLACEMENT METHOD
The lengthier method but allows the use of remastered graphics ❓

❗ Before you proceed with this method, it is highly advised to make a backup of the campaign stock maps (only the maps containing numbers in the name which are the campaign maps are relevant, i.e. "a10"). By default this directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1\maps"

1. Click the "Subscribe" button. This will automatically download and install the mod into your game directory.
2. Go to where your Workshop items are downloaded (by default this directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\numbers\numbers") (this mod's folder number is 3001870044). Keep this directory open for step 3.
3. Go to where your stock maps are installed. Replace the campaign ones with the mod maps from the directory in step 2.
4. Start the game using the "Easy Anti-Cheat disabled" option, and play the built in campaign normally but with the replaced maps.


❓ Currently neither the Steam Mod Uploader or Workshop allow to use remastered graphics when playing mods for Halo 1 and 2, even if they do feature remastered graphics. Should this change in the future, the mod will be updated respectively.



APPLIES TO ALL UPDATED LEVELS

Notes:
• Skulls and their effects should not negatively affect or break this mod. The only exception is the skull "Acrophobia", which by default is already an experimental skull.
• Collectibles are not affected by this mod and still appear normally. (i.e. skulls, terminals, etc)
• Cooperative play is available for all levels, but only has been tested and is guaranteed to work on the updated levels (see temporary info above).

Changes:
• Various logical sequences and encounters are re-adjusted to better fit the nature of this mod where needed.
• All existing areas of a mission are fully accessible.
• All automatic devices (that potentially impeded free movement) (mostly doors) are unlocked.
• All switch operated devices (doors and bridges) can be operated endlessly at will.
• All kill volumes are removed.
