You can accomplish this already in vanilla by buying the Journey's End music box from the Princess and equipping it

I'd imagine it does but the music will still play, although the box may be able to force it

does this mod prevent credits from playing when you use the journey's end music box

As cool as the credits are, mods that have post game content that's instantly after the Moonlord will benefit from this. You should add an item that drops from the Moonlord that lets you watch it in-game sometime later.
