描述
This is „Over the Top“ mod for TGW: Western Front.

Over the Top Mod helps the AI and players alike to go over the top, and help increase breakthrough in the late game, increase the challenge, buff the AI but also give a bit of a different experience in changing some mechanics of the game.

Disclaimer:
- COMPATEBILITY: should work with most mods if you load OTT first, but I can't garantee it.
- I update the mod regularly!!! Please turn automatic download of new version off so you will not ruin your campaign!
- I take no responsibility for any damage this mod might cause to your game/system - please use at own discrention and own responsibility

V2.2:
-Support companies now should definately work
- support for version 2.1 of TGW - please test!!!
- Infantry rifle ranges have been reduced this should make it harder for a player to have multiple companies with interlocking fields of fire, thereby making it difficult to defend.
- Trenches now give even less cover to infantry, expect more casualties from artillery, you should upgrade your trenches when possible.
- please note that further testing of the mod is needed due to the new changes of tgw 2.1
- 2 more companies for the AI (42 in total) - the AI, together with the additions of TGW 2.1, should be very difficult to counter. This requires testing. Please do tell me if the AI is too much for you now, or maybe it's still not enough of a challenge.

V2.1:
- AI will now recognize support companies and will use them too, PLEASE TEST AND REPORT IN CASE IT DOESNT!
It works for me ;)
- New support companies for France and US (should be more agile then UK and GE, but pack less of a punch
- New sounds for BAR
- Amercian raiders now have shutguns, shorter range but more damage
- American raiders now use a new sound for shotguns
- Texts for all support companies including the difference between them

NEW IN VERSION 2.0:

Mod Highlights
- New company types: Supports companies, using LMGs in deffence and attack including mortars and rifle grenades in attack
- Higher challange: AI gets 40 popcap, you get 32 (still needs some testing, post new patch)
- Historical battle events and destruction missions give you research, late war battles double so
- Raiders/Grenadiers rework: Longer range outside of the trenches for attack, longer recharge in the trench, more men in the company - for added breakthrough and sirvivablity
- Raiders/Grenadiers now use small arms (ranged outside grenade throwing range)
Germans use SMG, Americans Shotguns (with sound), all others pistols and bolt action carbines
- Airburst rework: now stronger against artillery and cheaper (use it as counter battary)
- Trenches rework: Trenches now offer less cover against artillery and mortars in general, but are cheaper to upgrade - expect heavier losses as the deffender
- Gas rework: investment in technology will payoff. the higher your technological level in gas, the more you will get: duration and AOE, it is now also cheaper

Tested with elite difficulty, giving the AI HP 1.05 and AI damage of 1.05

Know issues:
- not all Icon for Support companies are done
- not all unit portraits for support companies are done
- I'll take care of it tomorrow

What's next?
- Support companies for the bavarians (madsen)
- Models???? - that might be beyond me
- making Support companies triggered by technology
- Proper custom events and special triggers
- Custom technologies

I do thank the modder and understand why they no longer work on it. No compatibility issues with base game but I find it unbalanced on Elite difficulty.

The Ai gets a 1.50 not 1.05 damage and HP multiplier. I started both side with 8 research points on my second run through to get reinforced MG nests and trenches earlier but all you are doing is delaying when the AI will simply overwhelm you. I also downed the AI artillery accuracy by 20 otherwise they simply hit everything they aim at every time.

The support companies work for the AI but seem to be still only normal infantry for the player.

I have beaten the game twice on elite without the mod.

It has the makings of a v.good mod but the base game had the makings of a good game until it was abandoned by the Devs.

This mod is great and makes a huge difference with AI. The LMG squads were sorely needed and are a game changer. This fixes the worst mistakes with vanilla, thanks for the work

Could this mod get more cotent, even the Gas SFX mod which recently came out, has so many awards showing people would love for this game to be better? if not its ok
