Perhaps it would've worked better if you modified the model in blender a little - shortened the horns and pulled the ears forward/upward.

In having to decide "meta-species" for my mod's defaults, the only way I can tell that yours belongs with dragons is because you say so.

of course it's just a colour change, it's almost as if the OP used the exact model they needed for their custom character. there was clearly no other need to change the model around.

It's a bit more complicated than that I'd presume, I haven't made an Anthro Survivors mod but I can presume that creating a new texture, even a recolor, wouldn't be as simple as just retexturing a box or can.
