About the trolleybus model itself (in short):

ZiU-682 (also ZiU-9) is a Soviet and Russian high—floor trolleybus of large capacity for intra-city passenger transportation. This trolleybus model was in mass production from 1972 to 2015, having undergone several modifications. The ZiU-9 has become the most massive trolleybus in the world, it is operated in many cities of the post-Soviet space and in some European and South American cities. This trolleybus often appeared in Soviet films, a number of monuments in the cities of the former USSR were dedicated to it [⇨]. At the same time, some public transport researchers note that in the XXI century, the ZiU-9 is outdated, and trolleybus enterprises need to purchase new rolling stock to replace old vehicles.

ZiU-682B is a further development of the ZiU―682B, produced in 1976-1988, in which the structural disadvantages of the suspension were eliminated, and the design itself was slightly changed (for example, the number of ceiling hatches was reduced). Since 1988 and 1989, respectively, the production of ZiU-682-012 and ZiU-682-013 began, differing from each other and from the original model by engines and the type of door drive.
